It is my utmost honour to welcome you all to the third edition of Marmara Model United Nations Conference that will be held between the 16th and 19th of April in Istanbul, Turkey.
Although this will be our third edition, Marmara United Nations and International Law Society has a history of five years, showing presence in the most prestigious conferences throughout the world, especially in the Middle East and Europe. In our first edition, we had more than 150 participants that came from more than 10 countries. Being the Deputy Secretary General of our first edition, I can gladly say that it was a conference to be proud of. Being the Secretary-General of the second edition this year, I can wholeheartedly assure every and each participant that the four days we're going to host you will be an experience to remember.
This year, we have 2 committees that will be for high-schoolers and 4 committees that are appropriate for university students. UNHRC and DISEC will be our high school committees where the younger delegates of the conference will have a chance to debate on the matters that are appropriate for their academic level, with other same levelled delegates.
Our three university level committees, UN Women, G20 and UNGESA will be ones to remember for the MUN community in Turkey for years.
Last but not the least, we will have a Turkish Heavy Penal Court this year, namely, Ağır Ceza Mahkemesi. Law students from Turkey will be able to join the committee to practice and possess their Law knowledge within the court.
MarmaraMUN family is working really hard to be able to provide you a conference to remember. We are striving for perfection, and we're waiting for you to experience it during MarmaraMUN 2020, between 16-19 April 2020.
