Disarmament and International Security Committee
The Disarmament and International Security Committee is the first committee of the United
Nations’ General Assembly and will be simulated during MarmaraMUN 2020. The committee’s main concerns are: disarmament, working in harmony to maintain international
security and dealing with threats against international peace. Moreover, the regulation of armaments and the principles governing disarmament are also considered within the scope of the Charter.
This committee will be exclusive to the high school students.

Chair Gökhan Seheri
Mr. Gökhan Şeheri, junior economist at Boğaziçi University is a broadminded, analytical and a visionary person who has been known with problem solving skills with smoothest ways, extraordinary chairing methods and sense of humor. In his 7th year in Model United Nations, leaving more than 40 conferences behind, Mr. Gökhan Şeheri will be with us as the Chair of DISEC, in order to strive for perfection.
Chair Yekta Can Tursun
Yekta Can Tursun is currently studying in Computer Engineering at Istanbul Technical University. He has been in the MUN society since 2013. As a veteran, he loves being in the MUN family. He has aimed to create the best experience for his delegates and has a vision that is to increase the usage of the technologies in committees. Currently, he is very excited to see you at the DISEC.
